Covey Cottages for Veterans

Covey Cottages for Veterans is a newly established housing initiative designed to provide permanent housing for veterans aged 55 and older. The project features 12 meticulously designed cottages, each encompassing 400 square feet. These cozy units include a bedroom, kitchen, and living room to ensure a comfortable living space for each resident.
Complementing the housing units is a community center equipped with washers and dryers, fostering a sense of community and convenience. According to Deborah Johnson, President and CEO of CVAF, local agencies will collaborate to offer supportive services, ensuring that the veterans receive the comprehensive care and assistance they deserve.
Volunteer opportunities are available for people in the community who want to help with this project.

Ground View

Permanent housing for needy veterans can significantly benefit a community in numerous ways. Firstly, it provides stability and security for veterans who have served their country, ensuring they have a safe place to live and thrive.
This stability can lead to improved mental and physical health for veterans, reducing the burden on local healthcare systems. Additionally, by addressing homelessness among veterans, the community can foster a more inclusive and compassionate environment, enhancing social cohesion.

Our permanent housing initiative comes with supportive services that help veterans reintegrate into civilian life, offering job training, counseling, and healthcare. These services can enable veterans to contribute positively to the local economy and community life.
Furthermore, such housing projects can revitalize neighborhoods, transforming unused or underutilized spaces into vibrant living areas. This can attract investment and development, boosting the local economy and creating job opportunities. Overall, providing permanent housing for needy veterans not only honors their service but also strengthens the fabric of the entire community.
Your support and contributions will enable us to place several homeless veterans in permanent homes.
